What's up with all these ants?
Yeah, what is up with all these ants? They seem to love the terms Not-for-Profits, Non-Profits, Charities and Volunteers.
Do the ants remind us of someone? Do you have a moment for a story? I hate to assume you do, but you are reading about ants on a Not-for-Profit IT service website - gotcha (I joke).
The story goes like this: I remember one day taking the compost bag outside of the compost container, you know, to top it up as you do to save Mother Earth. But I got distracted picking up my little one from school and going on family adventures. When I returned, a line of ants was from my balcony door to the kitchen sink. The more giant ants were guarding the little ants, making little ant bridges out of ants. Impressive, they were cutting up the pieces of fruit and taking them back as a team. As I reached in, they heroically defended their find. I did my best to save as many ants as possible; that's me - the ant-saver. My wife hates that I save the spiders, too.
I kept thinking, who do the courageous, mighty, selfless, innovative ants remind me of as they tackled the job in numbers? Answer: Our favourite people the volunteers of Not-for-Profits, Non-Profits, Charities who work with resources primarily driven by People Power. And I came across an article online that made me say, "That's our mascot right there". The article read like this, "help looks different for everyone. Give an ant a breadcrumb, and they will work diligently to break it down and bring it home, but if you give the ants a nugget of gold, they will walk over it like it was any other pebble on the ground".
IT Services might not be as directly impactful to humanitarian aid, but pushing other people's voices and enabling people to reach more people is GenerosIT's (play on generosity) skill.
