GenerosIT Inc. is both federally and provincially, in Ontario, incorporated as a Not-for-Profit corporation in Canada.

Why a Not-For-Profit?

People always ask, "Why a Not-for-Profit? Isn't there more money in being For-profit?"

In short, YES, there is a profitable advantage to operating solely as a For-Profit organization; however, we are trying to solve a real challenge that most small Not-for-Profits face, which is budgeting for solutions and projects surrounding IT services often resulting in inefficient low-technology solutions powered by the volunteers, budgets that grow beyond their scope, projects that never reach completion, applications that are left in problematic states, websites and other forms of communication that become grossly outdated and more.

Our choice to be a Not-for-Profit symbolizes our commitment to being different, auditable, and transparent and operating through donations and volunteers rather than requiring the Not-for-Profit, potentially you, to be solely accountable for the funding.

Often, Not-for-Profits go through a lot of organic growth, with funding usually awarded on current ability to serve the public and how far the Not-for-Profit's reach is, which becomes circular because the ability to reach the public is often budget-based for communication tools like the Not-for-Profit website, newsletters, social media, email, and more, rather than word-of-mouth and people servicing the public.

We aim to provide an advantage in that cycle that empowers Not-for-Profits to reach the public and drive awareness. That empowerment will allow Not-for-Profits' missions to reach a wider network, be it volunteers, people in need, funding opportunities, and improved operation efficiency to achieve a more overall supportive position for Not-for-Profits to grow in their space.

Mission Statement

GenerosIT is a small Canadian Not-for-Profit that aims to connect activists, philanthropists, grassroots organizations, Not-for-Profits, and charities with an IT consultancy specializing in these spaces and prioritizing like-minded technology solutions for additive paybacks. The focus is on reducing typical billing items through grant and volunteer programs.
